BoardVantage Enhances 2nd Generation Board Portal with Secure Vault, Digital Certificates and Encrypted PDA E-Mail Support
New capabilities extend company’s board portal leadership position
Menlo Park, CA (October 15, 2007) — BoardVantage, the leader in board portals, today announced enhancements to its board portal solution which make the solution even easier to use, while still providing the industry’s highest level of commercially available security. Through a secure vault for downloaded documents, digital certificates for user authentication, and encrypted e-mail for popular hand-held devices including the Blackberry, BoardVantage is extending its leadership position in the board portal space.

BoardVantage clients benefit in three specific areas from today’s enhancements:
- With the new Secure Vault, directors can download documents automatically to their PCs or laptops for offline viewing. This is particularly helpful to directors and executives who travel frequently and have intermittent Internet access. Documents downloaded to the vault remain encrypted at all times, except when viewed by authorized users. Documents synchronize with the board portal every time a user logs on, and are therefore kept current. The vault also enables corporate secretaries to automatically enforce document retention policies, ensuring that expired documents are no longer available.
- Digital Certificates make access to the BoardVantage portal easier while preserving the security of two-factor authentication. Users complete a quick, one-time installation of a digital certificate on their personal computers, and are then automatically authenticated whenever they log on from the computer to the BoardVantage portal with their ID and password.
- PDA E-mail enables BoardVantage users to use Blackberries and Treos to send encrypted e-mails to one another. Users simply log on to the portal with their PDAs, and gain full access to secure email capabilities within the portal.
